A Guide to Hanley's Hidden Gems

Not long ago, we paid a visit to the new restaurant quarter that opened in Hanley's intu Potteries - and it’s fair to say, we were impressed.

To celebrate the new and exciting developments happening in and around Hanley, often referred to as 'the city,' we thought we'd let you in on a few more of the town's hidden gems.

Without further ado, here is a quick guide to Hanley's new secret hotspots for your reading (and hopefully visiting) pleasure...

Klay Pizzeria and Bar

Neatly tucked away in Piccadilly, Klay may be a new kid on the block, but it's already going down a treat with the locals.

Klay serves a taste bud tantalisingly inventive range of wood-fired pizzas, buttermilk chicken, and craft beers from around the globe. Its chilled vibe and stripped back interior sports the feel of a cool Williamsburg bar, and if you're hungry in Hanley, this place is well worth a visit.

Ruff and Ruby Rooms

This brand new community venture is part urban apparel outlet, part vintage clothes boutique, part coffee shop, part barbershop, part soft play zone, and part collaborative art space - and it must be seen to be believed.

The flagship project is all about giving local people a hand up and often hosts practical workshops, local DJs, creative talks, and no matter who you are, it's a brilliant place to hang out and see what’s going on.

Charms and Chains

This slick vintage store is like something you'd expect to see in Manchester's Northern Quarter and for those into their retro, it is simply unmissable.

Browse the shelves while listening to alternative sounds from the 60s right through the present day and grab yourself a rare find such as a Michael Jackson themed Thriller Jacket - yes, the store did actually stock one of those.
