Stoke-on-Trent is in the Running to Host the ‘Wizarding Wands’ Final

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you might well find this news, well, magic. Recently, it's come to our attention that Stoke-on-Trent has beat a number of locations across the UK to emerge as one of eight finalists to host the ‘Wizarding World Wands’ installation, as inspired by Harry Potter.

Alongside Birmingham, Dublin, Kingston upon Hull, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle Upon Tyne and Reading, Stoke is in the running to host this most illustrious of illuminations.

Standing a mighty fifteen feet tall, these nine magical wands, linked to some of the most beloved and infamous characters from Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, this modern masterpiece will illuminate each night during its installation, performing a spectacular light show to music from the motion pictures.

Conjured into existence with help from J.K Rowling's very own children's charity, Lumos, the 'Wizarding World Wands' installation will feature in four winning locations - with a public poll to decide the winners, closing at 5pm 26th August 2019.

This is great news for Stoke-on-Trent and a testament to the cultural progress The Potteries has made in recent years - something that is nothing short of magic.
