Weal Ales to Open Up First Ever Micro Pub Named After Their Musical Hero

The Potteries is a place with plenty of heart and lots of hidden gems.

Music fans Andrea and Paul Wealleans, who run Chesterton micro-brewery, Weal Ales, are going to open their first micropub in Newcastle – and they're naming it after their musical hero.

The pub, affectionately called Weller's, will open to the public later this month and feature a host of Weal ales, including one named after the man himself.

Speaking to The Sentinel, Andrea said, "we are calling the pub Weller mainly because we are huge Paul Weller fans and even have a beer called Weller Weal which is our best seller."

The passionate couple is spending a sum in the region of £30,000 to convert the former jewellers in Pepper Street into an intimate beer lover's boozer which will also serve a selection of gins and they're hoping this will be the first of many Weal ale pubs.

Frankly, we can't wait for the place to open. Paul Weller theme and locally brewed beers; what more could you want!

Keep your eyes peeled for our visit to Weller's pub, coming soon.
